 Well, huh.

Beneath the cut is a stream of consciousness snapshot of everything going on in my head right now. And footnotes.

Either three haiku(s) or one awkward short poem about Winchester life and death. SPOILERS-ish through Season Five.

This poem comes from when I was a good deal more sad and lonely in Spain than I am now. And also from the fact that there is no good way to talk about drinking alone that doesn't come off as depressing (I don't like going outside my house, and then becoming intoxicated around strangers whose language I'm not even 95% effective in; why is that more socially acceptable than having a few glasses of wine in one's apartment? SEE, EVEN THERE, IT LOOKS DEPRESSING.)

Apparently, I was planning to make this into a song. Hmmm, now where did that melody go...
brosedshield: (carnival watches you)
An original poem about what I often want in a good book. Or a fanfic. Or a poem.

I don't want my book to make me think; I want it to make me BLEED... )

PREFERENCE

This poem in no way, shape or form supports Bartleby, the Scrivener, a novella by Herman Melville. But, linkage is provided so you can get the reference, too. Though I completely understand if you prefer not to. :P

The longer I watch SPN, the longer I believe that John Winchester gave his sons two parts of his personality, and divided it, the good and the bad, between them. Below is a poem (a rather prosy poem? i think it's a poem? I am determinedly NOT checking to see how close I got to iambic pentameter)

Definite SPOILERS through S2.01 and rather vague spoilers through...S5? Really really vague. I will resist the rambling commentary until I can maybe make it less rambling.

What John Winchester Bequeathed to his Sons

He never could multitask. To love his sons and love his hate in the same breath was beyond him. )

Poems fall out of my head and dissolve like Jello.

Which is weird-speak for saying that after the weekend of amazing productivity (2 stories written, 2.5 stories edited, several things posted) my brain is burning out. I really want to finish my two Apo-verse fics but my brain is churning out poems. And poem fragments.

I think that joining Live Journal has let me embrace both imperfection and also a level of creepiness that usually I have to think about for a long time before I'm comfortable showing it around.

Where did this come from? Not sure. I've been thinking about Steampunk for a while—a fascinating blend of genres and ideas— and also got a D. H. Lawrence book-on-tape from the library today. Also thinking about Howling Mad Murdock from the A-Team. And these combined into this creepy flash fic fragment? Perhaps so.

Yup, I'm out of order already. But these two things are short, and thus, I desire to post them NOW so I can tackle posting larger things with more italics (alas! the italics). Both are SPN genfic.

The first is a haiku. The title (which contains all the SPOILER info you should need) is "What Dean Said to the Demon (In a Hypothetical Situation, Season 3)."

The next was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] de_nugis 's prompt ("Sam's puppy-dog eyes turn out to be his next power") at [livejournal.com profile] ratherastory 's crack-fic meme. I've always rather thought that Sam's puppy-dog eyes were a power that he just never noticed, and thankfully did not use for evil. This fic probably won't be posted at the meme because it's not cheery.

Title: Puppy-Dog Eyes
Characters: just Sam :(
Rating: PG-13 for violence and language
Word count:150
Spoilers: takes place between S3 and S4
Summary: Sam asks nicely.
Author notes: for once [livejournal.com profile] lavinialavender has not intensively edited this piece, but hopefully, because it is so short, I will be able to manage it myself.

Puppy-Dog Eyes )

[livejournal.com profile] lavinialavender and I were just going through lists of SPN fic we want to write, and it made me both saddened by how far my thoughts outreach my accomplishments, and ambitious to change that.
